Through its annual Call for Fellows, Het Nieuwe Instituut’s Research Department invited practitioners and researchers to work in residence from September 2018 to February 2019. During the Festive Opening New Exhibitions Programme on October 18, the fellows presented their projects and entered into a conversation on this year's theme, Burn-Out. Ramon Amaro, fellow and author of the call, introduced the theme. The program included a live ASMR performance by Rotterdam-based artist Lisa Gliederpuppe.
The selected Research Fellows are
Natalie Dixon with Silences, Oppressions and Omissions. How to read a story about burn-out.
Elisa Giuliano with A Hat and a Bicycle. Welfare capitalism and the female working body.
Malique Mohamud with The Bodega aka Avondwinkel as a site of archival practices.
